Tourist visa from Bangladesh: the documents most embassies ask for

A practical checklist to prepare before you apply for a tourist visa, and the mistakes that cause delays.

Every country has its own rules, but most tourist visa applications from Bangladesh ask for the same core documents.

The core checklist

  • Passport valid for at least 6 months after your return, with blank pages
  • Photos with a white background in the size the embassy asks for
  • Bank statement for the last 6 months, plus a solvency certificate
  • Proof of work or study: employment letter with leave approval, trade licence, or student ID
  • Travel plan: return flight booking and hotel bookings
  • NID copy

Common mistakes

  1. Large unexplained deposits in the bank statement shortly before applying.
  2. Names spelled differently on the passport and other documents.
  3. Applying too late, when appointments are fully booked.
