How travel eSIMs work, and how to check your phone
Land connected without roaming bills: what an eSIM is, which phones support it, and how to set it up.
An eSIM is a digital SIM card built into your phone. Instead of buying a SIM card at the airport, you scan a QR code and your phone gets a data plan for your destination.
Does my phone support it?
Most recent iPhones (XS/XR and newer), Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, and Google Pixel 3 and newer support eSIM. The phone must also be network-unlocked. On many phones you can check by dialling *#06#: if you see an EID number, your phone supports eSIM.
Setting it up
- Install the eSIM the day before you fly, while you have Wi-Fi.
- Keep your Bangladeshi SIM switched on for calls and bank OTPs.
- When you land, switch mobile data to the travel eSIM and turn on data roaming for it.
Ready to go? Order an eSIM and we'll check your phone first.
